Build hard things.
Be good people.

Deep Tech Week brings together founders, researchers, investors, and operators to push the frontier forward. That only works if everyone feels safe, respected, and welcome. This Code of Conduct applies to every attendee, host, speaker, sponsor, and organizer — at every event, online and in person.

§01

Our pledge

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free, inclusive experience for everyone — regardless of background, nationality, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or level of experience. We want Deep Tech Week to be a place where the best ideas win and the best people want to be.

§02

Expected behavior

  • Be respectful, considerate, and collaborative in your interactions.
  • Assume good intent, and give others the benefit of the doubt.
  • Be welcoming to newcomers and generous with your knowledge and connections.
  • Respect differing viewpoints and engage with disagreement honestly and in good faith.
  • Respect the venue, staff, and the property of others.
  • Follow the instructions of organizers and venue staff.
§03

Unacceptable behavior

The following will not be tolerated at any Deep Tech Week event or channel:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Offensive, demeaning, or derogatory comments related to any protected characteristic.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or physical contact.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or photographing/recording someone without consent.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, sessions, or other events.
  • Threats or incitement of violence, aggression, or harm.
  • Dishonesty, deceptive business practices, or exploitative or manipulative behavior.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above.
§04

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all Deep Tech Week spaces — conference venues, satellite and partner events, dinners and after-parties, online platforms, messaging, and any other space where attendees gather under the Deep Tech Week banner. It applies equally to attendees, hosts, speakers, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and organizers.

§05

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct — or you have any other concern — please report it as soon as you can. You can speak to any organizer or staff member on site, or email us directly. All reports are taken seriously and handled with discretion.

Email deep-tech-week@hyperstition.tech with the word "Conduct" in the subject line. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

§06

Enforcement

Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including warning the offender, expulsion from an event with no refund, and a permanent ban from Deep Tech Week. Bans are made at the sole discretion of the organizer and follow the same process described in our Terms of Service — there is no formal review or appeals process.

Our goal is always the safety and wellbeing of our community over the comfort of anyone who would undermine it.
