The company's Stargazer vehicle employs rotating detonation rocket engines to reach speeds up to Mach 9, targeting sub-hour transoceanic flights such as Los Angeles to Tokyo in 60 minutes. It serves airlines and passengers in the commercial aviation market focused on ultra-fast intercontinental routes. Venus has raised $33 million in funding, including a $20 million Series A led by Boeing HorizonX Ventures with participation from Airbus Ventures and others. Founded in 2021 by Andrew Duggleby, former GE Aviation executive, and Sassie Duggleby, it is headquartered in Houston, Texas. The firm plans uncrewed flight tests in 2024 and crewed tests in 2025.
