The U.S. Consulate General Frankfurt provides consular services including passport issuance, emergency assistance for U.S. citizens, and processing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. It assists the American resident community in the German states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, and Saarland, serving members of the Armed Forces and their families, business people, retirees, and visitors. The consulate supports over 100 other U.S. missions around the world with consular services and operates as a regional conference and training center for staff from embassies and consulates. It is the largest U.S. consular post and one of the largest diplomatic missions globally. Consul General Brian Heath, a career Senior Foreign Service officer with prior roles as Minister-Counselor in New Delhi and Consul General in Karachi, assumed leadership in August 2024.
