Tokamak Energy

Tokamak Energy develops high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets and compact spherical tokamaks for commercial fusion energy. Founded in 2009 as a spin-out from the UK Atomic Energy Authority, the company is headquartered near Oxford in the United Kingdom and operates the ST40 tokamak. It maintains a US subsidiary established in 2019 and supplies HTS magnet technology for other industrial applications. In 2025, TE acquired Ridgway Machines, a world leader in winding and taping machines.
