Sunthetics builds SuntheticsML, a web-based machine learning platform for optimizing chemical experiments and accelerating R&D in areas such as pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, energy, food, cosmetics, and materials science. The company says the software can work with as few as five data points and uses Bayesian optimization and other ML methods to predict outcomes and guide experiment selection. Sunthetics was founded by Daniela Blanco, and the NYU Tandon School of Engineering also identifies Myriam Sbeiti and Professor Miguel Modestino as part of the team behind the company’s early work. Sunthetics says it completed an oversubscribed $4 million seed round, but the lead investors were not identified in the sources reviewed. ZoomInfo lists the company’s headquarters at 3055 Hunter Rd in San Marcos, Texas.
