Reflect Orbital builds a constellation of satellites equipped with large deployable mirrors to reflect sunlight onto specific 5 km diameter spots on Earth after sunset. The system provides 'Light' for disaster zones, search-and-rescue, industrial sites, agriculture, urban areas, defense operations, and events, and 'Energy' to extend solar farm production hours. Mirrors measure 18 m x 18 m, made from mylar plastic with origami-inspired folding, deployed from satellites in Sun-synchronous orbits at 600-650 km altitude, delivering adjustable full-spectrum illumination from 0.1 lux moonlight levels up to daylight. Co-founded in 2021 by Ben Nowack (CEO, former SpaceX production engineering intern) and Tristan Semmelhack (CTO, former Zipline mechanical engineer and Stanford dropout). Raised $20M Series A in May 2025 led by Lux Capital with Sequoia Capital and Starship Ventures, following a $6.5M seed round in September 2024 from Sequoia, Starship Ventures, and others. Headquartered in Hawthorne, California.
