Purdue University Fusion Energy Research is focused on advancing the technologies required for commercial fusion power, with a particular emphasis on neutron diagnostics and semiconductor-based neutron detection. Our work explores next-generation detector architectures capable of operating in demanding fusion environments, enabling real-time measurement of neutron flux, energy spectra, and plasma performance. By bridging nuclear engineering, materials science, and device physics, we aim to develop the sensing technologies that will be critical to the world’s first generation of fusion power plants.
