Pipedream Labs develops an autonomous underground delivery system that uses electric robots traveling through pipes on rails to transport goods such as groceries and restaurant orders. Robots achieve speeds exceeding 60 mph while carrying standard grocery totes that accommodate over 95% of everyday consumer products, with portals enabling contactless pickup in under two minutes. The company operates Goods, an autonomous grocery store in Austin that stocks thousands of SKUs and fulfills orders from multiple retailers via the underground network, currently serving one location with plans to connect over 40 pickup points in the Austin metroplex. Customers include quick-serve restaurants like Wendy's for mobile order pilots and cities such as Peachtree Corners, Georgia, through partnerships like Curiosity Lab. The system has been deployed for food delivery from kitchens to drive-thrus in under 15 seconds. Co-founded by Garrett McCurrach (CEO, former VP Business Development at Martin Bionics) and Canon Reeves (CTO, former founder of MoreTech acquired by Sphero in 2021); key executives include Connie Shih (Business Development, former founder of Heralogie), Mac Higgins (Automation, former founder of Voyage acquired by Cruise/GM and Amazon Prime Air autonomous lead), and Koosie Boggs (Operations, former head of Uber Northwest/Midwest). Pipedream Labs raised $13M in April 2024. Headquarters are in Austin, Texas, with demonstrations in Austin and Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
