At Neurorium, we focus on unlocking the computational power of Biological Neural Networks (BNNs) as ultra energy efficient biocomputing units, harnessing natural intelligence for real-world applications. Our AI-powered BNN training technology is based on our proprietary and novel methods, tapping into the BNNs for computational tasks. Concretely, we use interconnected, lab-grown neurons as adaptive computing substrates, treating living neural tissue as a new class of processor. To enable this, we design algorithms, training protocols, and system architectures that allow BNNs to learn, adapt, and perform defined computational tasks tailored to specific application domains. Our technology enables BNN-based computing systems that are fundamentally different from, and complementary to, conventional silicon-based AI. By leveraging the intrinsic learning efficiency, parallelism, and plasticity of biological neurons, our solutions offer highly energy-efficient alternatives to conventional artificial intelligence approaches. Through this work, we aim to unlock the full potential of BNNs as a foundation for post-silicon intelligence, opening a new paradigm for sustainable, adaptive, and biologically inspired computing. Our startup’s mission is to translate the promise of biocomputing into practical, real-world applications. We address one of the core challenges in the field: how to reliably interface with, train, and deploy brain organoids and other biological neural systems in ways that create tangible value for both B2B and B2C use cases.
