Monash University is a public research university based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Named after Sir John Monash, it was established in 1958 by an Act of the Victorian Parliament and welcomed its first students in 1961 at the Clayton campus. The university offers degrees across numerous disciplines and maintains additional campuses in Victoria, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
