Last Energy develops next-generation micro modular pressurized water reactor (PWR) power plants with 20 MWe capacity that are fully modular and factory-made. The company provides a full-service delivery model from design through operations as a designer-owner-operator behind-the-meter independent power producer (IPP). It targets energy-intensive industries such as data centers, construction materials, metals, chemicals, and pulp and paper to deliver decarbonized, reliable baseload nuclear power. Last Energy originated from the Energy Impact Center, a research institute founded in 2017 by Bret Kugelmass to identify scalable paths to clean energy. In 2018, the center launched the Titans of Nuclear podcast. Last Energy was established in 2019 to apply proven base reactor technology integrated with its delivery model to reduce deployment time and cost for nuclear power plants.
