Encode operates the AI for Science Fellowship, a one-year program that provides participants with a £115k salary plus benefits, a minimum £100k individual compute budget, workspace, datasets, tooling, academic and industry partner access, and community events without taking equity. The fellowship targets builders applying AI to fields including robotics, medicine, climate, agriculture, physics, and neuroscience. It is backed by Pillar VC, which invests at company inception in science-focused ventures and has backed over 150 university-rooted companies while raising $500M across four funds. Pillar VC serves as an ARIA Activation Partner for the program.
