Dunia develops a closed-loop Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) platform combining physics-informed AI algorithms for material ideation, optimization, and prediction with robotic automation for electrochemical experiments and a data engine that processes terabytes of multi-modal data to accelerate materials discovery. The platform enables industrial-scale testing under realistic conditions and targets materials for the energy transition, including catalysts for CO2 conversion, high-energy-density batteries, and next-generation semiconductors for solar and computing applications. Dunia partners with businesses to co-develop and license these technologies. Founded in 2022 by Alexander Hammer (CEO), Marcus Tze-Kiat Ng, and Ahmed Ismail, the company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany. In October 2024, Dunia raised $11.5 million in a funding round led by Elaia and redalpine, with participation from EIC, Pace Ventures, Kindred Capital, Deep Science Ventures, Anglo American, and industry expert angels.
