DEEP - Institute for Deep Tech Innovation at ESMT Berlin equips scientists and researchers with business and entrepreneurship skills to commercialize deep technologies. It operates programs such as the DEEP Academy for science-to-startup transitions, CDL-Berlin (a nine-month mentorship program for science-based startups as part of the Creative Destruction Lab network), DEEP Pioneers for building founding teams, and vertical initiatives in lifescience (launched 2022), natural capital and compute (launched 2024). The institute maintains partnerships including with the Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, and receives support from KfW Capital.
