Charge Robotics builds robots that automate the most labor-intensive parts of solar farm construction. Founded in 2021 by MIT alumni Banks Hunter (CEO) and Max Justicz (CTO), the company develops systems such as the Sunrise robotic construction unit that assembles and installs solar-tracking hardware and completed sections of large-scale solar farms on project sites. It is headquartered in San Leandro, California, and backed by investors including Lux Capital and Y Combinator (S21).
