About

Charles Oppenheimer is an American entrepreneur, investor, and advocate best known as the founder and co-executive director of the Oppenheimer Project, a nonprofit organization he established to honor the legacy of his grandfather, J. Robert Oppenheimer—the "father of the atomic bomb"—by promoting international scientific cooperation, expanding peaceful nuclear energy for climate and economic security, and reducing nuclear weapons risks through dialogue and diplomacy. A San Francisco Bay Area resident with over two decades in Silicon Valley software development and startups, he has collaborated with entities like the IAEA, published op-eds in outlets including The New York Times and Foreign Policy, and spoken globally on nuclear issues amplified by the 2023 film Oppenheimer. He also invests in fission energy ventures to advance abundant, clean power.
