About
Charlie Jarrott is an American physicist and clean energy entrepreneur best known as the co-founder and CEO of Hexium, an Austin-based startup launched in 2023 that revives atomic vapor laser isotope separation (AVLIS) technology to produce enriched isotopes—starting with lithium-6 and lithium-7—for advanced nuclear fission and fusion reactors, as well as medical applications. With a background in inertial confinement fusion and plasma physics from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (2015–2022), prior roles at fusion startup Focused Energy, and degrees from UCLA (BS) and UC San Diego (MS), Jarrott has led Hexium to raise over $12M in funding, partner with LLNL, Oklo, and TerraPower on domestic HALEU production, and address critical fuel supply bottlenecks for the nuclear renaissance.
