About
Christian Wentz is the founder of Gradient Technologies, established in 2018 to pioneer engineering solutions for embedding trust and authenticity into electronic devices. Previously, he served as Vice President of Product at Kernel following its 2017 acquisition of Kendall Research Systems, which he founded in 2011 to commercialize groundbreaking wireless optogenetics instrumentation for neuroscience research. Wentz also contributed to wearable technology innovations at Misfit, acquired by Fossil Group in 2015, and co-founded Cerenova, Inc. in 2010 to advance neuromodulation applications. During his PhD at MIT as a Hertz Foundation Fellow, he developed minimally invasive biosensors and wireless neural interfaces integrating optogenetics with ultra-low power circuits under Edward Boyden. He holds a master's in electrical engineering and computer science (2010) and a bachelor's in electrical science and engineering (2009) from MIT.
