Simone Syed is an American venture capitalist and early blockchain pioneer best known as the founder and managing partner of Velorum Capital, a San Francisco-based seed-stage firm she established in 2013 to invest in transformative technologies at the intersection of hardware, software, AI/ML, manufacturing automation, biotech, energy, space, robotics, and digital assets/blockchain. A Dayton, Ohio native with deep roots in cryptocurrency—serving as Chief of Marketing for the early Bitcoin exchange Tradehill (2011), co-founding mobile payments ventures, and investing at Peter Thiel-backed Mithril Capital—she has also co-founded the unconventional BIL Conference, built communities like Ephemerisle, and founded BlackStarr Media partnering with SpaceX and Discovery Channel on tech popularization.
