Vidi Labs Limited develops Seekr, a compact clip-on wearable device that uses a camera to provide real-time audio descriptions of surroundings, object and text detection, scene recognition, and path navigation assistance for visually impaired people and the elderly. The device runs edge AI computer vision models including CNN and RNN on resource-constrained embedded hardware ICs for low-latency feedback. It has distributed over 100 prototype units to visually impaired users via NGOs in Hong Kong, along with a companion mobile app version 2.0. Co-founded in 2021 by Turzo Bose (CEO, BSc in chemical and environmental engineering from HKUST, MPhil candidate in AI focused on computer vision) and Lamia Sreya Rahman (COO), with Reshika P V as CTO. The startup has received accelerator support from programs including Creative Destruction Lab, Jumpstarter, and HKAI Lab, plus a HK$200,000 grant from the SIE Fund. Operations are based at HKSTP Innocenter in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong.
