Monash Ventures
Venture fund

Monash Ventures is the venture and investment arm of Monash University, set up to commercialize Monash research by backing early-stage spinout companies and research translation projects. Its Pre-Seed Fund, run with Breakthrough Victoria, provides up to A$1 million per company for investment-ready spinouts with links to Monash IP, licensing, or deep research collaboration, and it also offers mentoring, expert networks, and support to de-risk technologies. The first disclosed investments from the fund were into Myostellar, FytonBio, and Remagine Labs, which are developing therapies for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and autoimmune disease and wearable drug-delivery systems for chronic conditions. Monash University said the fund is a A$15 million initiative established under Breakthrough Victoria’s A$100 million University Innovation Platform. Public sources identify Robyn Ward as Monash University’s deputy vice-chancellor of research and enterprise and senior vice-president in connection with Monash Ventures, but they do not clearly name separate founders or a standalone company leadership team for Monash Ventures.
