Hyperdrives manufactures electric drive systems including the Hyperdrives One and Ultra motors as well as the Pulse inverter for high-volume production. These systems serve automotive, aerospace, maritime, and industrial applications where performance-to-cost ratio is critical. The core technology features hollow conductor windings enabling direct cooling with fluid flowing inside the conductors for 10x better heat dissipation, distributed windings to reduce losses and NVH, and grain-oriented steel stators compatible with rare-earth-free rotors. The company was co-founded in 2021 by Robin Renz (CEO), Michael Numberger (CTO), and Benjamin Hengstler (Chief Software Officer). Hyperdrives raised €3 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round in 2025 led by Rethink Ventures with participation from First Momentum Ventures and others. It is headquartered in Munich, Germany.
