BioMap is an AI therapeutics company that builds life science foundation models for protein and biologics design, using high-granularity patient data and proprietary automated wet-lab data to support target identification and novel antibody modalities in immuno-oncology, autoimmune disease, and related areas. It positions its platform for drug discovery and biotherapeutics development, and its Sanofi collaboration is aimed at co-developing AI modules to accelerate biotherapeutic research. BioMap was founded in 2020 by Robin Li and Wei Liu. Its public materials describe xTrimo V4 as a 268B-parameter foundation model and highlight a team of more than 300 experts working on protein-related drug development problems. Sanofi agreed to pay BioMap a $10 million upfront cash payment plus near-term milestone payments, with BioMap eligible for more than $1 billion tied to development, clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones.
