About This Event

There is no single technology more responsible for the abundance and prosperity of the modern age than cheap and abundant hydrocarbon fuels. Energy is the wellspring of all civilizational wealth, but can hydrocarbons be produced and used in a way that is both economically competitive and carbon neutral?

Synthetic fuels are the answer: pulling carbon directly out of the atmosphere and combining it with hydrogen in to produce designer fuel molecules at scale. If these fuels can be both clean and low-cost, they usher in an era of unlimited high performance fuels for thousands of years to come.

Join us for a series of talks by founders, scientists, and engineers in the field to explore the future of cheap and abundant synthetic fuel at scale.

Speakers Include:

Ryan Shearman, CEO of LOACarbon

Jack Williams, Postdoctoral Chemical Engineering Researcher, University of Cambridge

John Kutsch, Founder of Whole World Industries

Dan Sutton, CEO of Syntholene

Speakers

Ryan Shearman

Ryan Shearman

CEO, Loa Carbon

Ryan is a 10 year veteran of advanced energy and carbon synthesis technology innovation. His companies have advanced the verticals of synthetic fuel and synthetic diamonds, been recognized with awards from TIME Magazine and Fast Company, and delivered returns to shareholders.

Jack Williams

Jack Williams

Postdoctoral Researcher, Syntholene Energy

Jack is one of the worlds foremost Fuel Synthesis Reactor specialists. In hist postdoctoral research, he worked with Shell to deliver an MRI compatible Fischer Tropsche Reactor to better understand the inner workings and fraction optimization of the process. Jack was on the team that delivered the synthetic jet fuel to KLM airlines for its first transatlantic eSAF flight.

John Kutsch

John Kutsch

President, Thorium Energy Alliance

Alongside space lasers and clean steel smelters, John worked alongside Dr. Richard Boardman at Idaho National Labs on the proof of performance demonstrating the breakthrough efficiency of thermally-powered high temperature electrolysis; the critical enabler of low cost synfuels. John's 30 year career includes successful deployment of advanced energy projects for Dow, Dupont, Boeing, US Airforce, and the US Missile Defence Agency.

Dan Sutton

Dan Sutton

CEO, Syntholene Energy

Dan is a multi exit founder with a 20 year career in advanced energy. From Nuclear Technology to Battery Materials, Dan has a track record of delivering returns to shareholders and effectively deploying hard assets. He and his team at Syntholene seek to fuel the deep tech revolution with high-performance, low-cost, and carbon-neutral replacement fuels.
